For those of you who don’t know IMATS is the International Makeup Artist Trade Show. It happens all over the world in locations like Toronto, Los Angeles, London, Sydney and of course New York.

It is a place where the the make-up addicted join up, from professional stage make-up artists to 13 year old hopeful make-up artists. There are numerous exhibitors ranging from brushes to eye-safe glitter (like lit cosmetics, check them out here) to professional stage and screen make-up and also companies like NYX and Inglot.

It is also a place where amazing inspiring make-up artists come to speak, like Kandee Johnson, Eve Pearl and Kabuki to name a few. YouTube gurus use IMATS as a place to meet and greet their subscribers and get to know the people that watch them from behind a computer screen. Lastly, the make-up obsessed take advantage of the exhibitors discounted prices and stock up on their favorites or try new products they have on their wish lists.

Bottom line: IMATS is a dream land for all those who are make-up and product obsessed or working in a related field.

It was truly an inspiring event for me mainly because of Kandee Johnson. On camera Kandee seems to be such a genuinely happy, kind, loving person but in person these characteristics multiply! Kandee started off her speech by focusing on two young girls who were battling cancer and brought them gifts and offered them her prayers and support. Perhaps more valuable than anything else, she gave them hope and they weren’t the only ones. While waiting in line to speak with Kandee women who were stuggling with unsupportive family lives or obesity told her their troubles with tears running down their faces. Kandee would embrace them and tell them that all you need is one person to believe in you. I believe in you. Their sorrow would melt to a sort of confidence and joy. She literally brought light and hope to them in the 30-60 seconds she spent with each other them. It was truly inspirational.

Kandee made me feel so special when I told her about winning L’Oreal and Destination Beauty’s the Next Beauty Guru competition. I thanked her for putting up that reminder post on facebook because at the time we had limited access to the internet because we were house hunting and staying with friends-life was hectic! Thankfully she did and because of that I entered for the three remaining days of the competition and look what happened. It makes me think of that quote: “You miss 100% of the shots you never take.” You just never know what the outcome will be but you have to try!

I should also mention I met many of my favorite gurus at IMATS this year including Ingrid from MissGlamorazzi, Allison from Amarixe, Fleur of FleurdeForce, Nikki from NikkiPhillippi, Tanya from Pixi2woo, Nikkie from Nikkietutorials, Lauren from QueenofBlendingMUA, Shrinkle of SugarPill Fame and I had a lovely chat with the beautiful Julie G of JulieG713 and the creator of her own line of Nail Polishes from Jesse’s Girl. Please support these girls by subbing to their channels. They have SO much to offer.

Check out my videos from IMATS 2012 for a more in depth look at what IMATS is really like! I hope you enjoyed coming along with me & I hope to see and meet more of you next year!

This weekend was good for so many reasons! I met some people that have been inspiring me and bringing sunshine into my life via YouTube…I returned to NYC and my old neighborhood of Astoria and enjoyed it may I add…My husband and I had a lot, probably the most solo time we have had since we had our little guy over two years ago….Oh and lots of other things that I promise to share!

I plan on writing a full blog post about this tomorrow but I wanted get in touch with you guys. I was thinking so much about my Channel and you guys while I was at IMATS this weekend. I am grateful for each and every single one of you that chose to hit that subscribe button. You did it, I assume, because you wanted to see more and that means so much to me.

What some of you may not know is I have been a lot of things in my life. Some of those things: a singer/songwriter, a Miss America Contestant, a girl behind a desk in the corporate world, a suicide prevention counselor, an advocate for mental health and suicide prevention, a sister, a friend, a daughter, a wife and a Mom.

Being a Mom is without a doubt the hardest job I have ever had but it is also without a doubt, the best. I love my son so much it hurts-my friend Jill said it best when she said, “My heart has stretch marks.” He helps me see the magic in the little things. Over time we can become hardened and we forget how magical the world really is! He gives me faith. He gives me hope. I am sure he was sent to this world to show me all these things and more.

Sometimes Most of the time we mommas forget to put ourselves into the mix and get into the habit of losing ourselves. It’s one of the biggest challenges we are faced with. Being on here, sharing a tweet with you, a video, a blog post, hearing about your day, your favorite lipstick or the liner you bought and hated…it keeps me from losing myself <3 Thank you.

I am so passionate about what I am doing here and sharing with you and I am thrilled to have you with me along for the ride.

Please remember it is never to late for you! I have had many dreams in my life. Never quit! Do something you love that brings you JOY…you will most certainly succeed when you put all of yourself into something! It won’t be easy but you will love each step of the journey.

I wish you all a life full of dreams come true,

Dianna

I’ve been (jokingly, well, half jokingly) saying this for YEARS. SEPHORA is where I go to pray. It’s just my funny little way of expressing how I “worship” the beauty industry and all things make-up, hair and beauty related. (Not intending to be sacreligious here guys lol, just having a little fun. So don’t get your panties in a bunch or anything!)

Well, my little church of beauty is back at the innovation it’s known for; Sephora joined up with Pantone to create a color of the year: Tangerine Tango. That’s right ladies, Orange is the new Pink, AGAIN. lol

To celebrate their launch of Tangerine Tango, Sephora and Pantone teamed up again and set up a revolutionary mobile pop-up shop! The shop which was set up by Neverstop is a 23-feet tall by 43-feet long aluminium skin structure meant to look like their color guide. It even has mechnical doors that fan out and everything is matchy-matchy in the fabulous 2012 color of the year Tangerine Tango, of course!

The mobile shop will be located at Chelsea Triangle in March 21-30, and at The Grove in Los Angeles April 18-22 . Check in out in person if you can :)

And if you can’t, you can always invest in your future summery glow. Especially if you are a Sephora VIB because they are offering 15% off with the code CHICWEEK until April 6th. I just placed my order for the Color of the Year’s Collector’s Edition set. A 118$ value for just 68 bucks plus I got an extra 15% off! I can’t wait to try these products and do some Tangerine Tango Themed Tutorials for you guys!

Until then, wishing you a colorful and fabulous day,
Dianna

Hi Loves!

Spring is the time for newness and many people are shopping their behinds off right now…new wardrobes, new shoes, new haircuts and colors and of course NEW BEAUTY LOOKS!

I want to show you guys my top 10 beautigasms for spring. These are all products I have not tried or seen in action…I may not get them all but I lust for them all the same!

Lancome LA ROSERAIE Illuminating Smooth Powder

First up is something I have been lusting over for a while… the Lancome LA ROSERAIE Illuminating Smooth Powder. It is a beautiful rose and light pink transparent shimmer for highlighting. I love the palette and the beautiful effect of the rose…

COLOR OF THE YEAR COLLECTOR’S EDITION SET

You guys know I have always been a pink girl but I am loving ORANGE for spring. I find that orange is shockingly flattering on me especially on my eyes. It brings out the light honey color in them. I have been dying to try the Sephora and Pantone COLOR OF THE YEAR COLLECTOR’S EDITION SET. It is $118 dollars worth of orangey goodness for just $68.

L’Oreal HIP Studio Secrets Professional Color Rich Cream Liner

Moving right along on the color bandwagon, I couldn’t skip out on some drugstore wants especially when the products coming out in the drugstores these days are seriously competing with the high-end brands and even WINNING! I have been amazed by the quality and innovative stuff I have been finding right at my local drugstore. So, I am adding a few things to my list that I will surely pick up since they are affordable and convenient to grab. L’Oreal HIP Studio Secrets Professional Color Rich Cream Liner in Teal is a gorgeous mermaid like shade that makes me look forward to summer.

Last summer I was obsessed with blue for my eyes and used a L’Oreal palette to create my favorite summer look. So this year I think I will try this cream liner and see how it holds up to the heat of summer.

EFFACERNES – Waterproof Protective Undereye Concealer

Now, I have never tried a waterproof concealer but I have heard great things about this one from Lancome:

EFFACERNES – Waterproof Protective Undereye Concealer. I plan on giving this baby a test run as soon as the weather warms up.

Lancome Teinte Idol Ultra 24 Hour

Also from Lancome, not meaning to favor one brand over any other honestly, is their Teinte Idol Ultra 24 Hour. This foundation supposedly requires no powder or touch ups all day and I would love to see what type of texture it has and what the coverage is like. I know lots of gals that love it so this too is on my to try list!

NYX NEON collection

The next products are from NYX. I am a sucker for all things color and I just LOVE this NEON collection for Spring and Summer. Right now NYX is giving it to their FB followers for 50% off and free shipping making it only 25$. I think I may *have* to take them up on this awesome bright offer :) I LOVE the neon yellow polish and bright orange lipstick the best based on looks alone.

Nars Albatross

Nars, Nars, Nars….how I love your blushes but I have never tried your highlighters until last week at Sephora when I met and fell in love with Albatross. It’s so smooth, so bright, so beautigasmic and I MUST have it!

You can’t tell from this photo but the way it infuses light to the skin is exactly what I look for in a highlighter. I can’t wait until this baby is mine :)

Benefit’s Bella Bamba

Since we are talking about blush, well sort of, let’s talk about Benefit’s Bella Bamba. I just love the bright coral color and in general I love Benefit blushes. They never let me down so I know they are worth the splurge. This color is so hot with a tan! I can’t wait to try it :o)

L’Oreal, Now You Sea Me

I absolutely LOVE wearing seafoam blues and greens in Spring and Summer. They give an adorable vibrant pop of color and I think this color from L’Oreal, Now You Sea Me, is flattering on all skintones. I can’t wait to grab this little guy and paint my nails :)

Pantone Sephora brushes

My last item on the wish list is also from the Sephora and Pantone collection it is this adorable brush set in orange. I just think it is so adorable and I am a sucker for cute brush sets. I have rarely been disappointed in a Sephora brush but I would definitely go see these in person before I grabbed them to check softness and density.

So Loves…there it is, my current wish list. What are yours? What 10 things would you buy if money was no object? Why not create your own beautigasm folder on pintrest and pin them and let me know about it so I can check what makes you beautigasm! Find me on pintrest under what else? Beautigasm :)

Lipstick, Lashes and Beautigasms,

Dianna

SO! Like it or not WE ALL have days when we wake up and say WHO THE HECK IS THAT in the mirror looking back at me??!!

Today was one of those days for me :( my eyes are swollen from lack of sleep and allergy issues. My fatigue is seriously showing and my skin is just lifeless!!

SO…What can you do when you have a day like that and you aren’t prepared to give yourself a HUGE make-over? Here is what I did and it took about 3 minutes no joke.

1. Apply a BB cream or tinted moisturizer to your face. I used Garnier SKIN RENEW BB cream but I also love Origins Vitazing.

2. Conceal your under eye area to help hide your fatigue. Make sure to get the inner corner of your eye and a touch on your lids too.

3. Blush- I used Tarte Natural Cheek Stain in True Love. A stain will look more natural and last longer. It will also have a fresh dewy finish instead of a powdery one.

4. Sweep some highlighter on your cheek bones and down the center of your face to give a soft glow that makes your face pop

5. Line your lips with a fresh colored liner wither a pink or peach and then top with a little gloss. I used Lancome liner in Alpine Glow and L’Oreal Infallible Gloss in Posy

6. Set your conceal with a little powder I used L’Oreal Visible Lift Serum Absolute because I am loving its luminous finish, it isn’t too matte and I also love that it has an anti-aging treatment in it.

I didn’t even conceal any of my blemishes today I was going for no make-up make-up look. I didn’t want to go run my errands looking half dead but I just didn’t have time to do full make-up.

This is a look that works for anyone, it’s you only better :)

Try this and let me know what you think ladies!

Sending you a restful night of beauty sleep

I am super excited about the L’Oreal The Next Beauty Guru Competition! I kinda missed what was going on and when it started because I have been away from my computer while we were house hunting and getting settled after our recent move. I was thrilled to see Kandee Johnson post on her blog this past weekend about it and I immediately began working on my submission ideas!

If you missed the first one, it was posted yesterday and is on my blog, my youtube channel and on youtube.com/destinationbeauty under the gallery for the competition. L’Oreal Visible Lift Serum Absolute in Buff Beige
Revlon Photoready Concealer in Light
L’Oreal Visible Lift Serum Absolute Powder in Medium
L’Oreal TheONESWEEP Sculpting Blush Duo in Nectar
L’Oreal Infallible 24HR Eyeshadow in Amber Rush
Mac Eyeshadow in Orb
Mac Eyeshadow in Dream Maker
Mac Eyeshadow in Red Brick (one of my favorites, I find a lot of ways to use it surprisingly!)
