Hi Loves!

Here is my third look for the L’Oreal Next Beauty Guru Competition-Red Carpet Rocker! I decided to do something more edgy with a dark blue super smokey eye and soft dolly pink cheeks and lips. I am super excited about the L’Oreal The Next Beauty Guru Competition! I kinda missed what was going on and when it started because I have been away from my computer while we were house hunting and getting settled after our recent move. I was thrilled to see Kandee Johnson post on her blog this past weekend about it and I immediately began working on my submission ideas!

If you missed the first one, it was posted yesterday and is on my blog, my youtube channel and on youtube.com/destinationbeauty under the gallery for the competition. You can search musicbeautylife to find me :) (So excited!!) My first video was all about how to go from day to night. So you can be red carpet ready anytime-it’s true!

Today’s video is all about unique glamor that POPS. I used a rust color shadow to create a layered smoky eyeshadow look that is anything but a boring black smoky eye.

Here is a list of products I used:

L’Oreal Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer
L’Oreal Visible Lift Serum Absolute in Buff Beige
Revlon Photoready Concealer in Light
L’Oreal Visible Lift Serum Absolute Powder in Medium
L’Oreal TheONESWEEP Sculpting Blush Duo in Nectar
L’Oreal Infallible 24HR Eyeshadow in Amber Rush
Mac Eyeshadow in Orb
Mac Eyeshadow in Dream Maker
Mac Eyeshadow in Red Brick (one of my favorites, I find a lot of ways to use it surprisingly!)
Mac Eyeshadow in Carbon
L’Oreal Extra-Intense Liquid Pencil Eyeliner in Noir
L’Oreal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara
L’Oreal Infallible 6HR Lipliner in Nude
Maybelline Fitme Concealer in Light
L’Oreal Infallible 8HR Legloss in Sunset
Physician’s Formula Powder Palette Mineral Glow Pearls in Translucent Pearl

As soon as the video uploads I will post it right here! As always feel free to send me requests for your favorite red carpet look or any look you would like to see on my youtube channel!

Bye for now loves!

Highlighting, highlighting, highlighting it’s a trick that most people do not use in their daily make-up routine. I ALWAYS use highlighter, it’s a fast simple step that makes your skin look fresh, bright and basically like a spotlight is following you around all day-who doesn’t want that?

Here are my best tricks to getting fresh lively skin:

1. Use an illuminating primer or moisturizer to start
Simply prime your skin with all over soft shimmer to make your skin look alive. My top three are:

Smashbox Artificial Light-this product is great because it comes in three colors. Glow, a tanned color. Diffuse, a silvery pale color. Flash, a pink/blue tone reflective color (my favorite). ($26.99)

No 7 Highlights Illuminating Lotion-this product is light pink with silvery tones. It is great to mix with your face lotion and can also be used as a cream highlighter ($12.99)

L’Oreal Magic Lumi-this product is one of my newest finds. This is the closest dupe I have found for Smashbox Artificial Light in Flash but honestly I actually like it much more. I feel angelic in this primer and usually use it with just a little concealer to keep my glow intact. ($12.99)

2. Use a mineral powder
(if you use powder). Mineral powders have much more glow factor to them than regular powders that can sometimes remove all the natural glow from your skin. My favorites are:

Mac Mineralized Skin Finish ($29.00)

Avon Smooth Minerals ($12.00)

Bare Minerals Powder Foundation ($29.00)

3. Highlight the Cheek Bones and right down the center of the face with a powder highlighter.

My favs are:

Physician’s Formula Powder Palette Mineral Glow Pearls-this product comes in four colors but my absolute favorite is Translucent Pearl. I couldn’t live without this product! ($13.95)

Benefit High Beam– This is a cream highlighter that blends easily. ($26.00)

Bare Minerals Rose Gossamer– This is a pink toned highlighter that I have used for years. Bare Minerals has loads of colors to chose from but this one is my favorite. ($45.00 with kabuki brush)

I hope this run down will encourage you to try highlighting your beautiful faces! Let me know what you think of your skin highlighted vs not.

Happy Highlighting loves!
